ECHOED LIGHT.

What if we inhabit narrowness?

The project begins with a sensory experience of the Île des Impressionnistes: a narrow strip of land shaped by water, vegetation, wind and light. The landscape becomes an architecture of its own, where the sound of water, changing light and the feeling of moving along a narrow line shape the project.

How can we inhabit a narrow space without losing privacy or natural light? The project turns this constraint into a way of living: a central corridor becomes a space for living, meeting and breathing, while the homes are arranged around it to preserve privacy.

Île des Impressionnistes, France | 500 m² | Individual Housing

Here, light and water become the threads that guide everyday life. Openings, circulation and shared spaces create constant connections with the landscape, giving narrowness a sense of openness. Echoed Light: living between two horizons, water and light.
